Cherophobia is known by a number of different names: Fear of Gaiety, Fear of Happiness, Fear of Happy, Fear of Joy, Gaiety Fear, Gaiety Phobia, Happiness Fear, Happiness Phobia, Happy Fear, Happy Phobia, Joy Fear, Joy Phobia, Phobia of Gaiety, Phobia of Happiness, Phobia of Happy, Phobia of Joy
Euphobia- Fear of hearing good news
Euphobia is the name of the phobia relating to the fear of good news or hearing good news. Sounds really tough. Euphobia is usually caused by an intense negative experience from your past. But your mind can also create that fear seemingly without basis. The key is digging down to the source and replacing negative associations with positive ones. One of the psychological treatments, if I may call it so, involved the exposure of the subject to light-hearted pieces of news, gradually increasing the “goodness level” until he/she would get more familiar with and less scared of them.
Geliophobia- Fear of laughter
Geliophobia or also known as fear of laughter is a very common phobia with many people. The geliophobic individual may fear that they will laugh or smile at inappropriate times. Some people coping with this phobia may find jokes, comedies, and funny situations or people a source of anxiety. Geliophobic individuals may fear laughter, in general, may be intensely fearful of their own laughter or may fear the laughter of specific people. As is the case with all phobias, the person impacted by Geliophobia has experienced a trauma at some time in their life.
Hedonophobia- Fear of feeling pleasure
Hedonophobia is the fear of feeling or having pleasure. Hedonophobia is an intense fear of something that poses little or no actual danger. While adults with hedonophobia realize that these fears are irrational, they often find that facing, or even thinking about facing, the feared situation brings on a panic attack or severe anxiety. It is generally accepted that phobias arise from a combination of external events and internal predispositions. Many specific phobias can be traced back to a specific triggering event, usually a traumatic experience at an early age.
Anthropophobia- Fear of people or society
Anthropophobia, also known as sociophobia, is an abnormal and persistent fear of people often caused by a negative past experience. Sufferers from anthropophobia experience undue anxiety about encountering or being attacked by people. This phobia can become quite irrational if left untreated. The most effective way to completely free yourself of the fear of people is to re-programme your mind by using effective self-hypnosis methods. Anthropophobia is an intense fear of something that poses little or no actual danger.
